Spark Timer Kit

Spark Timer Kit is designed for use to measure the speed of a moving cart, investigate the forces of friction in dynamics, or determine the rate of acceleration in a falling body at a vertical position. The spark generator creates a series of sparks which burns tiny dots into the paper tape at a precise and same interval when the tape is pulled through the Spark Timer. The faster the tape is pulled through the timer, the larger the distance between the dots.This allows students to calculate the speed and acceleration of the object. The recording needle is immediately raised when the timer is turned off to allow easy insertion or removal of tape.

Spark Timer Kit, Three-stage frequency 0201110200B is equipped with 20Hz, 60Hz and 100Hz settings that provide clear print, even for a relatively slow-moving dynamic cart.

Spark timer kit comes with 120′ of recording paper tape, Pack of 10 carbon discs, a table clamp, and a 300g weight.

Note: Since this distance is usually very small; it is necessary to measure the distance moved in 10- tick interval and devide this by the time for covering the 10- tick interval.

Ticker Tape Timer Kit

Ticker Tape Timer kit is designed for use to measure the speed of a moving cart, investigate the forces of friction in dynamics, or determine the rate of acceleration in a falling body at a vertical position.The Ticker Tape Timer Kit has the arm ( an electromagnet with spring loaded armature ) which vibrates regularly due to the changing current in the mains supply. It operate at frequency of 50 HZ ( 50 cycles/Sec ) and it makes dots on the paper tape at an interval of 0.02 sec above a support table of carbon disc when the arm vibrates. Here the time interval for 2 consecutive dots is equivalent to the time for 1 cycle. Successive dots are marked at the same interval of time.

This Ticker Tape Timer kit is fitted with a pair of 4 mm sockets at 19 mm spacing, colour coded red and black.

Replacement Carbon Paper for Ticker Timer is an accessory for use with Ticker Tape Timer. Each disc is about 38mm diameter with a central hole.

The disc is placed on the platform so a dot appears on the paper tape at the same rate as the hammer vibrates. They can be used numerous times before they are exhausted.
